NONSOLOPATTINAGGIO: I SOCIAL RENDONO LE PERSONE STUPIDE

I motori di ricerca ed i social network sono diventati il modo più veloce per accedere ad informazioni su tutto ciò che accade nel mondo e per trovare le risposte ad un numero infinito di quesiti. Ma un uso eccessivo di questi mezzi potrebbe compromettere l’abilità di pensare di chi ne abusa.
L’allarme arriva dell’Università di Edimburgo, che ha dichiarato a voce alta che se l’uso costante dei motori di ricerca e dei social network può far sembrare le persone più intelligenti, in realtà si tratta di un’apparenza superficiale. La scoperta è stata possibile grazie all’utilizzo di un test psico-attitudinale mirato, al quale Rahwan ha sottoposto alcuni di volontari che hanno dovuto avere a che fare con una serie di domande e problemi apparentemente semplici, con i quali si è giunti ad una conclusione: le persone spesso vengono a conoscenza delle risposte giuste grazie all’utilizzo dei motori di ricerca, e sono spinti a condividerle tramite i social network, ma in realtà non apprendono il processo analitico necessario a risolvere i problemi, non comprendendo a pieno quindi le soluzioni.
