Northshore Enjoys Small
Bump in Registration

After a few years of
small declines in registration, the Northshore Inline Marathon
experienced a slight increase in 2007.
Rick Abrahamson, chairman of the Northshore board, said 3710 skaters
registered for last weekend's event. He described the number as "a
welcome increase from the past few years of slight losses in
registration."
Last year, 3682 skaters registered for the event in Duluth, MN. The year
before (2005), 3530 signed up.
The Northshore is the largest inline skating event in North America

Luca che taglia per primo il traguardo dell'ultima gara in programma
(5000 a punti, con secondo posto finale), La coppa per la società
proveniente da più lontano, il quarto posto di società (con soli nove
atleti in gara!) e il solito pomeriggio in allegria tra amici:
sicuramente un modello... da esportare! ;-))

As a kid, I was prone to
staring at people and asking a zillion questions. I was thrilled
to discover that I could get paid for that, and I've made a
career of it. I've
been a journalist for more than 35 years, all of it spent at
daily newspapers. My desire to write was altered by an art
photography class, so I began my career as a photojournalist,
detoured briefly into management, and now combine both
photography and writing. I'll soon mark three decades with the
Minneapolis Star Tribune. |

I'm not a skater, but my
husband Dave is. He and his daughter Heather have been skating
together for more than a decade, and they're darn good at it.
When I met them almost five years ago, they tried to teach me to
skate, too, but it was evident that I'd be happier doing
something I was good at - observing.
As I watched them race, my
journalistic instincts kicked in. Each race - and each racer -
has their own story. My camera helps tell those stories.

Nous n'avions pas encore
testé de roues du fabricant français Roll'X sur
Rollerenligne.com. C'est maintenant chose faite avec un essai de
la Puls'R 100 mm 83A. Initialement dédiée à la piste, le
fabricant, Alain Myallonnier, nous l'a conseillée pour un usage
polyvalent. Voici nos retours sur ce produit...
Un produit 100% français
Cette roue initialement dédiée à la pratique sur piste et au
short-track nous a été proposée par le fabricant français RollX
pour un usage polyvalent. On remarque immédiatement le noyau
plein à la façon des roues lenticulaires. Son sur-noyau en
uréthane jaune clair est généreux. Le profil elliptique est typé
course.
La finition est propre : aucune bulle n'est présente sur la
surface du sur-noyau, la liaison avec le moyeu est propre et
l'on ne trouve pas de copeaux d'uréthane ou de plastique.
Avec une masse de 120 grammes, ce produit se place dans la
moyenne par rapport à la concurrence.

Conclusion
Nous avons été agréablement surpris par ce premier essai d'un
produit Roll'X. Loin des rouleaux compresseurs de la
communication que sont les grandes marques, la petite entreprise
française a su tirer son épingle du jeu en proposant un produit
de bonne facture et polyvalent à un prix très honorable : 10,50
€ contre plus de 12 € pour la plupart de ses concurrentes !
La Roll'X Puls'R 100 mm 83A allie confort de patinage, bon
roulage et bonne adhérence. Si ce produit s'avère un peu juste
pour les marathons rapides, il trouvera tout à fait sa place en
patinage sur longue distance grâce à une usure lente. Sa
rigidité conviendra bien aux courses courtes. La Puls'R sera
également idéale pour la piste grâce à son excellente adhérence.
Bref, si vous cherchez un produit bon marché qui offre un
excellent rapport qualité/prix, essayez la Puls'R...

Record dell'ora
L’association
Toulouse Rando roller Sportive (TRrollS) organise, en
partenariat avec Haute Garonne Karting, « Le record de l’heure
toulousain » le 7 octobre prochain. L'événement se tiendra sur
le circuit de Muret (à coté de Toulouse).
Les participants devront parcourir pendant une heure la plus
grande distance possible et établir ainsi leur propre record
individuel.
L’épreuve se déroulera sur le circuit de karting de Muret (proche
de Toulouse).
Cette manifestation est ouverte à tous patineurs, licenciés à la
F.F.R.S. ou non. Elle débutera à 09h00 (retrait des dossards et
inscriptions) pour se terminer vers 13h30 avec les podiums et l’apéritif
de clôture

Take off the veil of
the Solvein TS-Revolution
Solvein will release new
frames with Tension Support system. But I don't know this system how to
work. It's for 2 point boots but I think that you get the same effect of
3 point system maybe. Anyway, it's a prototype frame. Then I hope it
will come soon and make it better.

Tres colombianas entre
las 10 mejores de la historia del patinaje mundial
|
Tras la oficialización por
parte del CIC, a través de patincarrera.com, del escalafón
individual por medallas, tres colombianas aparecen entre las 10
mejores en la historia de este deporte, por lo menos desde
cuando esta disciplina pasó del patín convencional al chasis en
línea.
En varones, el récord absoluto lo tiene Chad Hedrick, quien en
pruebas individuales acumuló 41 títulos de los 58 podios en
donde fue protagonista. En damas se mantiene como referencia la
también estadounidense Theresa Cliff
Las mejores patinadoras colombianas según el escalafón dado a
conocer por el CIC, son Jénnifer Caicedo, Briggitte Méndez y
Alexandra Vivas. Las tres hacen parte del selecto “Top 10”,
todas con seis medallas de oro en sus respectivas trayectorias.
Aquí no se cuentan las preseas doradas en su condición de
juveniles. Por ello, Cecilia Baena no se ubica en la tabla,
aunque está muy cerca, porque acumula 5 preseas doradas en
mayores más las 17 logradas como juvenil.
