Test de la roue Gyro
Mercury 110 mm

Nous avions testé
les modèles XG de la marque Gyro l'année dernière. Nous voici en
possession du modèle 110 mm de la marque grâce au distributeur
Universkate : les Mercury. Parmi les produits que nous avons eu
entre les mains dans ce diamètre pour l'instant, c'est le plus
léger. Mais qu'en est-il de la qualité générale de la roue ?

Le marché des
110 mm en pleine expansion
Gyro est une marque de Corée du sud qui officie, entre autres,
dans le freeride et la vitesse. Le fabricant a gardé deux
modèles phares en 2007 / 2008 : les XG et les Mercury. Ces
dernières se déclinent en couleurs différentes selon leur
dureté.
Description
Les Gyro possèdent un noyau en étoile à 7 demi-branches. Les
branches sont décalés pour en former finalement 14. On gagne
ainsi en masse tout en gardant une bonne rigidité. Ne vous
laissez pas tromper par sa couleur argenté, il n'est pas en
métal, mais en matière plastique (un peu comme sur les Hyper
Stripe).
La liaison avec le sur-noyau en polyuréthane est propre.
Le sur-noyau en polyuréthane bleu est décoré d'une sérigraphie
argentée assez discrète. La dureté n'est pas indiquée
contrairement au diamètre. La surface est lisse, on ne décèle
aucune bulle et l'ensemble paraît bien homogène. On note un fin
trait de soudure tout comme sur les AM-Wing, preuve que le
procédé de fabrication s'appuie sur l'injection et non sur le
moulage.
Le profil est plus elliptique que rond. La bande de roulage
n'est donc pas trop large.

On avait envie de vous donner un petit aperçu du haut de gamme vitesse
de la marque. Le Race-Machine est un modèle à coque carbone basse équipé

SNS has tested a new
concept wheel "JAWS" in 2007. And they release a new wheel "T-MAXX-T3"
as the results. SNS and MPC are alike at a point of the Dual Durometer
Wheels. In case of the MPC wheel, the inner urethane of the wheel is
soft while the outer urethane is hard. But in SNS wheel, the center hard
urethane of the wheel is sandwiched between soft urethane. It means that
this wheel roll fast on the center and obtain strong grip on both side
of the wheel.

The next step
I am not interested in
the frame fitting bigger than 110mm wheels on. But BONT updated the pic
of the prototype 3X120-125mm frame on the web this July. And many
3X110mm frames, which are easy to change up sizing, have come already.
Yes I am skating on the frame with 100mm wheels now, but 120mm is too
much for me.
