Los equipos ya
comenzaron a mover fichas para la temporada 2008
En territorio asiático en el mes de abril del próximo año arrancará una
nueva temporada de la World Inline Cup y para ello, los equipos ya están
trabajando.
Como es habitual todos los años la histórica y mágica capital bávara de
Berlín recibe a la última parada del año donde también es el punto de
partida para una etapa clave tanto para los atletas como para los
managers de los equipos profesionales ya que comienza la díficil de
tarea de negociar los contratos y pases para la temporada siguiente.
Poco más de un centenar de atletas luchan por continuar dentro del
circuito profesional de maratones al menos una temporada más y los más
afortunados lograrán firmar un contrato que les asegure seguir hasta
2009 en la máxima serie de nuestra disciplina.
Debido a recortes presupuestarios, cambios en las estrategias de
promoción y comunicación de las compañías y al retiro normal de los
atletas, los equipos sufrieron grandes cambios en las últimas temporadas
generando un buen número de sorpresas al comenzar cada año deportivo.
Asia será nuevamente la encargada de inaugurar la temporada 2008 de la
World Inline Cup -serie que desde noviembre último está dirigida por
Andrea Müller- y todo parece indicar que la pintoresca Chu Hai -en Hong
Kong China- haría su debut inaugurando la temporada el 13 de Abril; en
caso contrario, Seúl será una vez más la encargada de entregar los
primeros puntos para el ranking mundial.

ENTRETIEN ET
NETTOYAGE DES ROULEMENTS DE ROLLER
Pièce essentielle pour la performance de vos rollers, les roulements
doivent être surveillés régulièrement. Il n'est pas toujours nécessaire
de les démonter. Si cela reste la seule alternative voici quelques
conseils pour procéder au mieux...
Evitez de démonter les roulements dans la mesure du possible
Il n’est pas forcément nécessaire de démonter un roulement à chaque
nettoyage, évitez même de le faire dans la mesure du possible, car l'opération
est douloureuse pour le matériel : perte d'étanchéité, déformation des
flasques et des billes sont autant de risques potentiels pour un gain
parfois minime.
Moins le roulement est maltraité et plus il restera étanche. Ne le
démontez donc qu’en cas d’absolu nécessité (eau ou sable à l’intérieur,
crissements…).

ENTRETIEN DE LA
PLATINE OU CHÂSSIS DE ROLLER
Le châssis ou platine de roller peut être en plastique, composite ou
métallique. La procédure de nettoyage est identique quelque soit la
composition. Munissez-vous d'une éponge, d'un chiffon, d'une brosse à
dents, de papier hygiénique et suivez les étapes!
N'oubliez-pas l'huile de coude
La poussière, l'eau, la graisse ou encore les carburants sont monnaie
courante sur nos routes. Ils ont vite fait de venir se fixer sur les
platines, plus particulièrement dans les coins les plus inaccessibles,
notamment au niveau des points de fixation des axes. Ces parties doivent
être bien nettoyées, sinon les roulements risque d'être freinés.

doppi

La tecnologia
dei cuscinetti doppi è molto semplice. In questo caso 2 è meglio
che 1.
Con i normali cuscinetti hai 11 sfere che lavorano sotto
pressione, 22 sfere se calcoliamo che per ogni ruota ci vogliono
2 cuscinetti. I double Bearings invece sono esattamente il
doppio quindi sono 44 sfere per ruota, e questo significa che
per ogni singola sfera i carichi sono più leggeri e questa
suddivisione permette al cuscinetto di girare molto più a lungo
e molto più velocemente.
Un’altra caratteristica che ho notato dei DB è la loro
precisione e la stabilità che danno alla ruota. Una sensazione
che si percepisce quando nella spinta senti realmente le
caratteristiche delle ruote, senza dispersioni di energia, e nel
caso dell’abbinamento con le ruote MPC si può addirittura notare
che ne migliora lo sfruttamento di elasticità.

Ask Bill Begg
Got a question
about inline speed skating, training or history?
Ask inline skating's most famous coach, Bill Begg.
The outspoken Kiwi will field questions in his weekly Q&A column
"Ask the Coach" on the Inline Planet.
Bill's not shy — so feel free to ask him anything.
He's also one of the sport's great storytellers. So if you want
to hear tales about the likes of Chad Hedrick and Derek Parra,
fire away.
Bill is still coaching.
He is currently directing the Swiss Junior World Team and working as a
staff member of Iguana Think Tank, organizer of the World Inline Cup.
When he isn't coaching skaters, he's producing them. He and his wife,
former world champion Cheryl Begg (nee Millar), are the parents of two
world-class skaters: Wayne and Nicole.
Nicole Begg, a world champion and top World Cup skater, raised eyebrows
recently with some semi-nude photos in Sports Insider magazine. That may
be another topic for "Ask the Coach."

Hardskater: MPC
Le ruote MPC
sono un brevetto della MTECH e la tecnologia utilizzata
attraverso la doppia mescola è stata studiata per permettere
alle nostre ruote la massima prestazione sia in scorrevolezza
che in tenuta. Il desiderio di ogni pattinatore è sempre stato
ottenere questo tipo di ruota, con massimo grip e massima
scorrevolezza e il nostro obbiettivo quotidiano è quello di
creare la ruota perfetta.
Generalmente avere ai piedi una ruota con molto grip, da al
pattinatore la sensazione di essere troppo incollato, quindi di
non avere una buona scorrevolezza, ma con le ruote MPC ti
basterà guardare i tempi e noterai che la nostra tecnologia
della doppia durezza è destinata a cambiare questo credo. MPC è
destinata a cambiare il mondo dello speed, rendendolo ancora più
veloce!

Inline Spring Skates
with Independent suspension
In line skates with full
suspension, not just a concept, we have several pre-production
prototypes!.
Originally designed as
a recreational/fitness skate to address a complaint from many skaters
about the foot numbing vibrations transferred to the foot by rough
pavement. The design needed to remove as much of the foot numbing buzz
as possible, had to be simple, without wear surfaces or intricate parts,
the only moving parts would be the spring flex. Wheels had to float
easily over bumps on pavement, uneven surfaces etc. but needed to be
laterally rigid, smooth while gliding but solid when pushing off. Had to
attach to existing skate boots, they also had to robust, durable and
lastly manufacturable with current technology and not be priced out of
the market.

AM Wing Blu 110 su RollerEnLigne
La marque
Taiwanaise AM-Wing nous a transmis un jeu de roues bleues de 110
mm sans aucune sérigraphie. On ne connait pas le nom du modèle
ni sa dureté, mais nous les avons testées ici...
Noyau
Les roues sont livrées dans une housse avec fermeture éclair
bien pratique pour les transporter et les entreposer. Bon point
pour le fabricant.
Le modèle bleu d'AM Wing a une largeur de 22 mm, légèrement
inférieur à la plupart des modèles présents sur le marché (en 24
mm).
Il offre un moyeux à 5 doubles branches très ouvertes pour
gagner en masse sans perdre en rigidité.
Le noyau a une empreinte pour roulements standards. La liaison
avec le sur-noyau est propre et ne présente pas de surprise. Le
moyeux présente sur son flan au bord du roulement l'inscription
de la date de prodcution comme sur les autres modèles AM Wing,
un plus pour qui profite du temps pour faire "mûrir" ses roues.

Bont Pioneers 3D Laser
Foot Scanning - Updated: October 25, 2006
Many people think making custom boots is easy. You just make a mould of
the foot and then build the boot around it. But it is a lot more
complicated than that. A speed boot only has 3-5mm of padding and
skaters want the boots to be tight. So once we make the skaters’ foot
mould, we need to carefully sand off some of the fleshy parts of the
foot to give the skater a snug fit. It takes years of practice to know
how much flesh to shave off the foot for different shapes and sizes of
feet.
Eight years ago when I
was working for my father, I came to the realization that one day it
would be me who has to spend four hours a day sanding feet casts to make
custom boots rather than my father. I began working on a variety of ways
to make custom boots without the need for sanding. One of the first
things I tried was 3D laser foot scanning. A local company in Sydney was
pioneering the new technology. Everything was great, but the system
needed three $30,000 scanners. The units were huge and there was no way
you could fit them in a typical skate shop. I was about 8 years ahead of
my time. Nevertheless, I perused the technology as I had read in a trade
publication that Footlocker was also trialing this technology and I
thought that one day skaters may be able to go to footlocker and scan
their feet and send them to us. Footlocker never did get 3D scanners but
in the past 12 months, the price and size of scanners has come down to a
price that is affordable, and a size that will fit in skate shops. It
doesn’t matter if the foot is cast with a molding sock, alginate or a 3D
scanner, the manufacturer still needs years of experience to know which
part of the foot’s flesh needs to be removed before the boot is made.
Earlier this year I
headed off to Taiwan to see the research they had been doing there in
this field and I decided that 3D foot scanning was finally ready for the
world of speed skates. We picked up our research from where I had left
off and began making samples once again. We realized that we would need
a new factory to accommodate the new machinery associated with
manufacturing the lasts and we have just completed it. Bont will move
into the new factory in November 2006 with production commencing in
January 2007.

Hardskater: Hyper vs
Matter vs MPC
Ho iniziato a
pattinare nel 1985 sui ben lontani pattini tradizionali a 4
ruote, e quando ho visto per la prima volta i pattini in linea
avevo appena 10 anni. Dovetti aspettare di arrivare ai 15 anni
per capire realmente la differenza tra i diversi prodotti in
maniera seria, prima le uniche differenze che percepivo erano
quelle enormi. La ruota era piantata, o scivolava troppo.
Con l’esperienza e gli anni si acquisiscono le basi e la
conoscenza dei materiali e delle aziende che le producono; si è
quindi in grado di fare una scelta abbastanza giusta tra le
numerose caratteristiche delle ruote (durezza, dimensione) e
dalle fonti. (Azienda che le produce).

la libertà, anche se ha sempre un prezzo da pagare… è possibile... righe
per dare un po' di coraggio a chi pensa di non poter cambiare e si sente
incastrato in un canovaccio che non gli si addice…in bocca al lupo.

MATOS : LA
FABRICATION DES PLATINES ROLLER EN COMPOSITE
Les platines en composite comprenant du carbone sont loin d'inonder le
marché pour l'instant, mais elles pourraient bien prendre de plus en
plus de part aux platines en aluminium dans l'avenir. EO Skates a eu l'amabilité
de nous expliquer les différents procédés de fabrication de ces modèles
futuristes...
Les platines en
matériaux composites sont fréquemment utilisées dans les
produits de milieu de gamme présents sur le marché. On trouve
par exemple de modèles variés combinant le Nylon et la fibre de
verre.
En revanche, dans les produits de haut de gamme, jusqu'à
maintenant, l'aluminium régnait en maître, offrant un bon
compromis en terme de masse, de solidité et de rigidité.
Conception des modèles
Comme nous l'avons vu dans de précédents articles, la
réalisation de châssis composites, constitués de carbone et de
mousse, nécessite une phase de conception.
L’objectif est d’obtenir la bonne nervosité tout en garantissant
une résistance constante.
Ainsi, le design et le choix de la fibre de carbone (trame du
tissu, poids au mètre carré, orientation des fibres, etc.)
déterminent le comportement de la platine.
